(Carrie was the dau of Theron, b 1828 d 11 Apr 1910, and Margaret Ann (Lockwood), b 8 Jan 1830 d 11 Mar 1897, Shaw. They were md 1 Nov 1854.) Through a development of Henry Edward's which attracted the attention of a manufacturer of East Alton, Ill, he, his wife and five children moved to Ill. in 1904 where he became associated with Western Cartridge Co., predecessor to Olin Mathieson Chemical Corp. With Western Cartridge Co. he held positions of responsibility in different departments, manufacturing as well as marketing. He later became Advertising Manager and Director of Trapshooting Sales Promotion, the position held at time of his retirement in 1936. In connection with sales and promotion work, Henry Edward traveled throughout the State, saw much of Canada, Mexico, and England.

In Antwerp, Belgium, he coached the American Olympic Trapshooting Team in 1920 and the team won championship victories with unprecedented scores which still stand. Henry Edward was the author of two books: "Petticoat Town" published in 1954 and "This and That" published in 1959. In 1954 he was elected a member of the National Mark Twain Society of St. Louis thru his contribution to the field of Literature.

6 Dale points out that Mrs. Egy appears to have made an error here in assigning Sterling Sidney Winans a number of (1-5-1-3-6-3-1-1-1-2), instead of (1-5-1-3-5-3-1-1-1-2), and James Merritt Winans a number of (1-5-1-3-6-3-1-1-1-4), instead of (1-5-1-3-5-3-1-1-1-4). Their father, William Manzon Vernon Winans, is correctly identified on page 174 (not yet transcribed) with a number of (1-5-1-3-5-3-1-1-1). I've corrected Sterling and James' numbers, and those of their descendants, to be what we think they should be. CWC.
7 Dale tells us that his brother Michael was born 31 August 1970, and passed away 10 Feb 2011, in Northeast, Erie County, Pennsylvania.
