Berks County.

1749My 6g-grandfather, Jacob Hertzler, arrives from Switzerland with his family, including 5g-grandfather, John Hertzler. He is the first pastor of the Amish congregation in the town of Hamburg.
Jan 1755My 4g-grandfather, John Hertzler, is born to John and Veronica Hertzler.
1770My 3g-grandfather, Christian Plank, is born to Melcher and Margaret Plank.
Jul 1780My 3g-grandfather, Jacob Hertzler, is born to John and Anna Hertzler.
1792Christian Plank marries Barbara Yoder, either here or in Lancaster county, where all their children are born.
1790-1810Many Hertzler family members move west to Mifflin county.

Bradford County.

Sep 1855Jeanette's great-grandmother, Lucy Ann Jennings, is born in Bradford county. We don't know where she spent her childhood. She turns up in DeWitt county, IL, in 1872, when she marries Ben Inman.

Dauphin County.

Nov 1820My 2g-grandfather, Henry Wilhelm, is born in Millerstown to John and Catharine Wilhelm.

Huntingdon County.

~1807Jeanette's 2g-grandmother, Catherine Shaver, is born to "Major" John and Mary Shaver, possibly in the area around what is now Mount Union.

Lancaster County.

Jul 1808My 2g-grandfather, Samuel Plank, is born to Christian and Barbara Plank. The Planks soon move to Mifflin county.

Lebanon County.

Jun 1826My 2g-grandmother, Eliza Horst, is born in Lebanon county.
Oct 1845Henry Wilhelm and Eliza Horst marry in Tabor Reformed Church.
~1851Henry and Eliza move to Monroe county, Michigan.

Lycoming County.

~1793My 3g-grandparents, Moses Perry and Sarah Russell, arrive in what is now Williamsport. Whether they were already married or got married after arrival with their families, we don't know, nor do we know where they come from. They only stay about six years before moving on to Venango county.

Mifflin County.

Jun 1810My 2g-grandmother, Juliana Hertzler, is born to Jacob and Kristina Hertzler.
Mar 1830Juliana marries Samuel Plank, who has come here from Lancaster county.
Apr 1833Jeanette's great-grandfather, James Langton, is born in Mifflin county, probably in Granville township, to Joseph and Catherine Langton.
Jun 1842Jeanette's great-grandmother, Elizabeth Sterrett, is born in Mifflin county, probably in Armagh township, to Nathaniel and Mary Sterrett.
Fall 1845Samuel and Juliana Plank join the Mennonite migration to Logan county, Ohio.
Feb 1865James Langton and Elizabeth Sterrett marry and soon afterward move to Illinois.

Northumberland County.

July 1810My 2g-grandmother, Mary Ann Smith, is born in Northumberland county, to David and Ann Smith.

Philadelphia County.

~1767My 4g-grandparents, Melcher and Margaret Blanck, arrive in the Colonies unwillingly at the port of Philadelphia. Melcher is soon sold into indentured servitude in Berks county, where his name is changed to Plank.

Venango County.

~1799My 3g-grandparents, Moses and Sarah Perry, arrive from Lycoming county.
Dec 1802My 2g-grandfather, John Perry, is born in Scrubgrass township to Moses and Sarah.
Jun 1834John Perry and Mary Ann Smith marry, probably in Scrubgrass township.
Oct 1841My great-grandmother, Sarah Jane Perry, is born to John and Mary Ann.
~1845John and Mary Ann build a flatboat in which they and their children float down the Allegheny and Ohio rivers to their new home in Ohio.
