In May 1850, George and Rebecca Carey sold their Staunton township property to Michael Miller. They were enumerated in Staunton in July, perhaps on a different piece of land. This deed was transcribed by cousin Kelly Conrad:

Know all men by these presents that we George Carey [sic] and Rebecca Carey Wife of the said George Carey in Consideration of the Sum of Two Hundred Dollars in hand paid by Michael Miller do hereby remise release and forever quit Claim Unto the said Michael Miller his heirs and afsigns forever all our title interest and estate legal and Equitable in the following premises with the appurtenances situate in the County of Miami and State of Ohio and bounded and described as follows being a part of the North west quarter of Section fourteen (14) in Town one (1) And Range Eleven (11) Being Fifty acres on the North side of Said quarter In testimony whereof We have hereto Set our hands And Seals this 29th day of May A.D. 1850.his Executed in presence of William Hart Joseph Miller { George + Carey {Seal} { mark { her { Rebecca x Carey {Seal} { markThe State of Ohio Miami County Ss.
