In 1827 my great-great-grandfather, Benjamin Carey, purchased Lot 53 in Troy, Ohio, from Zephaniah and Sarah Tenery. The town of Troy is in Concord township, across the river from Staunton township where several Carey settlers owned property in the early days of Miami county. I couldn't find any listing in either the 1820 or 1830 Miami county censuses for anybody with a name resembling Tenery. The deed was transcribed by cousin Kelly Conrad.
